*The Farallon EtherWave and EtherMac card came in two varieties. The ep(4) driver supports the 595 and 895 cards. These cards have the blue arrow on the front along with a 3Com logo. The Farallon 595a cards, which have a red arrow on the front, are also called EtherWave and EtherMac. They are supported by the sn(4) driver.

The drivers should work on most current Linux distributions, withthe 2.4 or 2.6 kernels. A Pentium processor with the MMX enhancementsis required. Some systems may require kernel recompilation withspecial ACPI patches, especially with 2.4 kernels. Using a 2.6 kernelis recommended.

MC97 modems from other manufacturers may appear under the AC-Link ControllerPCI IDs above, but this driver only supports Conexant devices.
Many vendors (such as Dell, HP, IBM, U.S. Robotics/3Com, etc..) haveshipped modems based on Conexant modem chipsets. If you have a modem basedon the HSF chipset but with different PCI vendor or device IDs, pleasecontact modem.support@linuxant.com.
